Buckley, Killian named January’s Student Rotarians
The Superior Rotary Club selected Emma Buckley and Alex Killian, seniors at Superior High School, as Student Rotarians for January.
Buckley is a member of the Interact Club, a Rotary organization for high school students, the Key Club and Senior Mentors. Outside of school, she is an instructor with the Learn to Skate Program. Buckley plans to attend the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities to earn a degree in merchandising. She is the daughter of Vikki and Paul Buckley.
Killian is a member of the National Honor Society, the Spartan girls’ volleyball team and Senior Mentors. She also participates in the Superior-Douglas County Chamber of Commerce Youth Leadership Program. During the summer, she volunteers at the Essentia Health pharmacy in Duluth and various organizations with the Youth Leadership Program. Killian plans to attend either the College of St. Scholastica or University of Minnesota-Twin Cities to earn a degree in chemistry. She is the daughter of Kelly and Scott Killian.
During the school year, Student Rotarians attend Rotary meetings and provide club members with opportunities to learn about high school programs and activities as well as the accomplishments and concerns of Superior youth.
Each year, the Superior Rotary Club awards two scholarships to students graduating from Superior High School. Information is available from school counselors.
