Academic honors

Nicolette Lindberg and Michael Stollenwerk of Lake Nebagamon, and Molly McKone and Anne Tracy of Superior made the dean’s list at the University of St. Thomas.

Dayelle Davis of Superior made the dean’s list at the University of Iowa.

Brandon Gustafson of Superior made the dean’s list at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.

Sarah Langford of Poplar made the dean’s list at Carroll University.


Jessica Stoltman of Solon Springs and Kathleen Ronchi of Maple earned Bachelor of Science degrees in nursing at Bemidji State University. Ronchi graduated magna cum laude.

The following students graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Numerous Bachelor of Science degrees were conveyed, including Breanna Rasmussen of Foxboro, social work; Andrew Kirov of Gordon, communicating arts-interactive, theatre; Joel Staffrude of Lake Nebagamon, biology; Jennifer Larson of Maple, legal studies; Poplar residents Anna Amys, physical education, Orrin Botten, mathematics; and Emily Stauty, psychology. Solon Springs natives Zachary Gilbert receive a Bachelor of Science in physical education-exercise; Kate Klinzing, Bachelor of Science in physical education; and Jeredt Runions, Bachelor of Fine Arts, visual arts-studio art. Michael Abrahamzon of South Range received a Bachelor of Science in business-finance.

Numerous Superior residents graduating from UWS received Bachelor of Science degrees. Dale Anderson, Nicole Cook and Sarah Spongberg earned degrees in psychology. Brady Arneson, Mallory Engen, Amanda Le Bard, Ashley Martin and John Messina majored in physical education. Michael Beauto and Rachel Zubiate earned degrees in legal studies. Sarah Chevalier earned her degree in mathematics and computer science. Elizabeth Dumonseau earned a degree in accounting; Erica Del Gallego, and Brent Edstrom received degrees in business-management-marketing; and David Nelson and Andrew Quick earned degrees in business administration.

Johann Galland and Davyn James received degrees in communicating arts. Jody Geissler earned hers in broad field social studies with a concentration on history. Sarah Ann Johnson received an English degree; and Megan Jonasen, Danielle Moon, Jennifer Moselle. Elizabeth Reichert and Lindsey Wiberg earned degrees in elementary education. Jeremiah Lindberg earned a degree in political science; and Chelsea Loining and Thomas Skerik earned degrees in individually designed majors. Jamie Stenberg and Stephanie Tappe received degrees in social work and Alex Youker earned his in computer science. Kylie Cochran of Superior earned Bachelor of Music in voice. Bachelor of Arts degrees went to Superior residents Brittany Miller, visual arts-art therapy and Binta Sidibe, political science-peace, economics. Hitomi Nakamura of Superior earned an Associate Degree

Jonathan Lundeen of Maple graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout with a Bachelor of Science in applied science and psychology minor.

Victoria Durand and Janie Murray of Gordon graduated from UW-Eau Claire with Bachelor of Science degrees in elementary education. Paige Pearson of Poplar also earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing there. Superior natives Andrew Dettle earned a Bachelor of Science in social work and Katlyn Frye earned a Bachelor of Arts in religious studies at UW-Eau Claire.
