The Superior Rotary Club has donated $7,500 to the Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank.

“We are pleased to support the work of Second Harvest,” said Alan Rock, chairperson of Rotary’s Charitable Giving Committee. “We issued a challenge to other community organizations to match our donation and raised an additional $4,200 for the Food Bank.”

The Rotary Club has also donated $1,500 to the WITC Scholarship Foundation, and $1,500 scholarships to a senior graduating from the Solon Springs School District, the Maple School District and the Superior School District.

In addition, a donation of $1,000 was made to the Make a Wish Foundation to be awarded to an 18-year-old girl having a terminal disease. She has chosen to take a trip to visit friends.

The donations were funded from the proceeds of the Superior Rotary Club’s annual Wine and Craft Beer Tasting event held in October.

“We appreciate the support of Rotary members and community members throughout our area who attended this event,” said Brian Leuthner, Superior Rotary Club President. “Together, we are making a positive difference in our communities.”
