Smart Driving class could save seniors in insurance

The AARP Smart Driver Class runs 1-5 p.m. May 22 at the Superior Public Library, 1530 Tower Ave.

The four-hour course is available to drivers age 50 and older. The recently updated curriculum explains the changes that occur in vision, hearing and reaction time as we age and provides useful driving safety tips and strategies for handling these changes.

Several major auto insurance carriers in Wisconsin offer discounts to graduates of AARP Driver Safety Program.

For example, AARP’s auto insurance underwritten by the Hartford Company offers a discount to eligible graduates for three years. Anyone interested should contact their carrier to see if a discount is available.

Register with Luann at 715-394-3611 or 800-870-2181.

The course costs $15. for AARP members (bring your membership card), or $20 for non-members, payable on the day of the course.
