Ring in a ‘Neuter Year’ with your pet

Northland Spay/Neuter wants you to ring in the New Year by making a resolution to neuter your male dog or cat during their “Happy Neuter Year” campaign.

Sponsored by PetSmart Charities, the largest funder of animal welfare efforts in North America, the “Happy Neuter Year” campaign provides $20 neuter surgeries for male dogs and cats during the month of January.

Spaying and neutering is one of the most effective ways to reduce the homeless pet population and is safe for puppies and kittens as young as eight to 10 weeks old, according to the American Veterinary Medical Association.

“Neutering male pets is a simple surgery that reduces unwanted behaviors, like roaming, fighting, and urine marking territories,” says Tammy Schilling, DVM, owner of Twin Ports Spay/Neuter Clinic PLLC. “It also guarantees your dog or cat never fathers a litter of puppies or kittens.”

This special $20 rate is even less than the organization’s regular low price and is available to all residents of Twin Ports area. Pet parents who wish to take advantage of this offer are encouraged to call for an appointment early as space is limited. When scheduling an appointment, owners must mention the “Happy Neuter Year” campaign and pre-pay for the surgery.

Northland Spay/Neuter will provide 150 “Happy Neuter Year” sterilizations for $20 in January.
