Old-fashioned holiday photos help DCHS

Studio One Photography is teaming up with the Douglas County Historical Society on Thanksgiving weekend for a benefit event -- Heirloom Portraits and more!

From noon to 5 p.m. Dec. 1, DCHS offers a retro-style living room from the 1950s for old-fashion, holiday family portraits.

The set, a living room that would make even the Beaver's mom, June Cleaver jealous, will be designed by the DCHS History Theatre department and furnished with DCHS collection items so it will be authentic and fun.

There will also be a make-and-take holiday crafts and treats for the kids, a bake sale and a traditional arts and crafts sale.

All prints and holiday cards will be printed in muted colors, with a dated look to them. So Moms and Dads dress up -- or wear bathrobes with the kids posed in their PJs, waiting by the tree for Santa Claus. Pets are welcome but they must be well behaved and supervised. Sessions are limited so call Studio One at 715-392-2747 or DCHS at 715-392-8449 for appointments and pricing.

A portion of the proceeds will go to the Douglas County Historical Society for preservation and programming.
