Students shine in ballet's 'Nutcracker' production
Eight Douglas County students training at the School of the Minnesota Ballet are featured in the Minnesota Ballet's holiday performances of "The Nutcracker."
Superior High School junior Julia Heytens appears as the teddy bear on Friday and Sunday, in "Waltz of the Snowflakes" on Saturday and in "Waltz of the Flowers" on Friday and Sunday. Superior Middle School eighth-grader Natalie Sandor appears as Madeleine on Saturday. Lakeview Christian Academy seventh-grader Jasmine Wu appears as Clara on Saturday. Superior Middle School seventh-grader Isabella Blohm appears as the caroler director on Friday and Sunday and a soldier in all performances.
Hazel Lewis, a fifth-grader at Great Lakes Elementary School, appears as a mouse warrior and Mother Ginger child. Adalia Pauna, a third-grader at Northern Lights Elementary School, appears as a caroler on Friday and Sunday.
Erin Clark of Lake Nebagamon, a ninth-grader at Northwestern High School, appears as a geisha dancer on Friday and Sunday. Emelya Roth of Parkland, a ninth-grader at Superior High School, appears as the society girl on Friday and Sunday.
Performances take place at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 3 p.m. Dec. 10 at the DECC Symphony Hall.
