Superior: Middle school students throughout the area face off during the LEGO First robotics tournament at Superior Middle School, 3626 Hammond Ave. Robots from 19 different teams take on a set of challenges noon to 3:30 p.m. Open to the public.

Superior: University of Wisconsin-Superior students and faculty prepare a variety of international dishes during the annual World Student Association Cooking Demonstration, beginning at 1 p.m. at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 820 Belknap St. With representation from 13 different countries and 15 recipes to try, the event includes demonstrations on how each dish is prepared as well as samples of each dish to eat. Free.
