Superior: Barker's Island Farmers Market runs 9 a.m. to noon in the parking lot adjacent to the Superior Festival Park and SS Meteor.

Iron River: The Friends of the Iron River Library hosts its annual book sale 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the library, 68235 S. Main St. A plentiful supply of hardback and paperback books is available to buy. Come early for the best selection. The bag sale begins at 1 p.m. Proceeds benefit the library.

Bayfield: Bayfield's historic Blessing of the Fleet takes place in the City Harbor at 1 p.m. Free and open to all who use the lake. Recreational boaters of all types are encouraged to participate. Hermantown: The Superior Singers presents "Let's Go to the Movies," featuring songs and themes from the silver screen, at 7 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 5454 Miller Trunk Highway.

Ashland: Northwest Wisconsin Workforce Investment Board and Concentrated Employment Program Executive Committee meets at 10 a.m.; the Joint Conference Committee meets at 11:30 a.m.; and the Joint Finance Committee at 12:30 p.m. at the CEP Office, 422 Third St. W.

Superior: The Superior Area Retired Educators Association meets at noon at Vintage Italian Pizza. Committee members are Linda Munson, Carol Gartner, Julia Blaisdell, Pat Passero and Monica Tikkanen. Superior: Network with fellow job seekers and learn of new job openings during Job Talk at 9:30 a.m. at the Superior Job Center, 1805 N. 14th St. A career workshop on interviews and negotiation takes place at 10:30 a.m. The workshop is free, but participants must pre-register by contacting Nikki at (715) 718-4839 or ngonalakis @nwcep.org.

Lake Nebagamon: The Clef Music Society meets at noon at the home of Nancy Smith, 7675 S. East Lake Blvd. A potluck lunch is served, followed by a program featuring favorite childhood songs performed by members. A short business meeting conducted by co-president Nancy Smith follows. Superior: The Bong Book Club meets at 2 p.m. at the Richard I. Bong Veterans Historical Center. Club members present a brief synopsis of their readings and research relating to the 50th anniversary of the Arab-Israeli Six Day War, which took place in June 1967. The public is welcome.
