Arts festival open to all students in Douglas County
For the first time, Douglas County 4-H's annual Cultural Arts Festival is open to all K-13 students in the county. The festival runs 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. April 22 at Northwestern Elementary School.
There is no fee to participate and each entry will be judged and receive a premium of $1, $2 or $3 depending on its quality. Art projects done for school assignments are welcome. There is no limit on the number of entries, and the same projects may be entered in the Head of the Lakes Fair, which runs July 11-16.
Youth can take part in a number of categories, including music (individual and group), solo acting, group drama, speech, photography, arts & crafts, literature, computer art and demonstrations. Entries will be judged in different grade categories.
