Highland: Celebrate the new ice rink beside the Highland Town Hall, 8060 Oakdale Road, noon to 4 p.m. during the inaugural Highland Rink Rally. Enjoy free hot dogs, brats, brown beans, hot cider and hot chocolate. Bring your skates and a dessert to share.


Superior: FeraDyne Outdoors hosts a hiring event 9 a.m. to noon at the Superior Job Center, 1805 N. 14th St. The Job Club meets for coffee, donuts and talk about local job opportunities beginning at 9:30 a.m. Free.

Superior: The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI-Douglas County) hosts a free peer support group, 5:30-7:00 p.m in the Superior Community Room at Essentia Health-St. Mary's Hospital.

Duluth: Mended Hearts, a support group for those who have had a heart event, and family and friends, meets 7 p.m. in the Third Floor Conference Room at St. Luke's Hospital 915 E. First St. Pat Nelson, registered nurse, is the speaker.
